The Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection is responsible for all general issues related to statutory social insurance in Austria, as well as for issues related to statutory pension insurance.

Issues related to statutory health and accident insurance are the responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Health.
